Perfect get-away
This place is a well kept secret. Away from the crowds but close to nature, town, surf, trails, everything. Add a lovely host, voila.
For tent campers there are logs to serve as a table. Perfect for the minimalist traveller.
Expect wildlife to pass by and birds to sing for you in the morning.
Perfect get-away.

Site 1 - Felton Open Space Camp Sites
Our stay in Felton for Memorial Day
Our stay in Felton, CA over Memorial Day weekend was unforgettable, thanks to the wonderful hosts, John and Lorraine. This was our first HipCamp stay, and it exceeded all expectations!
The winery and cider tasting room on-site was a highlight. The Sunset cider was phenomenal—we ended up enjoying a flight and taking a crowler of it home. We also met some incredibly friendly fellow Hipcampers and made new friendships.
Our two boys had an absolute blast! They loved playing with the large Jenga set and were thrilled to try Squirt soda for the first time. The family-friendly atmosphere made it a perfect getaway for all of us.
Bummer that campfires or propane fire pits were not allowed due to wildfire dangers, but this was completely understandable, especially given the history of the 2020 Santa Cruz fires. Despite this, the experience was nothing short of delightful.
The Buddhist temple on the property provided a serene and calming environment, perfect for some peaceful reflection.
One important note for future campers: the site doesn’t have water, so you’ll need to bring your own. Having a communal spigot would GREATLY enhance a wonderful site! (This was clearly stated beforehand). There was a clean portapotty and an exceptionally clean bathroom at the tasting room. Additionally, there is cell signal at the site, which was a pleasant surprise.
Overall, I highly recommend this HipCamp site and would definitely return the next time we’re visiting Felton or Santa Cruz.
